ddrum Hybrid
Basswood Shells
Internal Pro Series Triggers
Triple Flange Hoops
Shell Mounted XLR Inputs

Internal Pro Series triggers

With their superb tracking ability, ddrum triggers set a new standard of trigger mechanics. Pro Series Triggers are internally mounted into the Hybrid. They provide a wide dynamic range, easily replaceable transducers, rugged metal construction and increased sensitivity for accurate response.
Direct mounted XLR connectors

A fully functional acoustic drum set, that has been augmented with our industry-standard Acoustic Pro triggers. They have been shock mounted to the interior of the drum, and the cable plugs into the shell. This allows you to take full advantage of electronic options for sound reinforcement, and replacement.

I can get this kit at my local music store for $799.99

VS

Pearl ELX Series
Solid sounds and gorgeous ultraviolet-cured lacquer finishes!

This is my current kit. Kinda beat up. It's an 8 piece set, has a rack..etc.
Basically looks like this, (This one is not mine). I also would like to add, I do not use all my drums with my pearl. I only use the high tom and floor tom.

Thanks for the feedback! If anyone could give me some on the ddrum Hybrid that would be appreciated.

you are wrong.

My ddrum set is amazing and I love playing on it. It has nice pure sounds and is a solid drum set. I'd recommend it anyday

Nope. Ddrums bearing edges are notoriously bad.

Get the Pearl. My Pearl export lasted me for 8 years before I traded it in for a Ludwig. It was still in playable shape as well.

I say Pearl any day. My friend swears by ddrum. Maybe you need to play em to figure out your ideal drumset?

Pearl exports are widely known to be shitty ass drums as well man.... that's not a good example to use in your argument.

edited in: but he is talking about an elx, which is much nicer than the horrible export series, I would keep the elx... just wait and save up for a nice custom kit.

I think what you mean is that it's been popular to knock them. Have you ever owned one? Fact of the matter is if you take good care of your gear it will take care of you. My bearing edges were smooth and I never had hardware problems. I played for 8 years with it. Doesn't that say something to you?
