Greetings, I have recently started a band with a friend of mine and we are really serious about it. I already have a Yamaha accoustic guitar and I really like what she gives me. She has a nice deep sound, well defined sound and I like the feel of it.

I thought I was not going to play accoustic on stage but we now have a few songs which require me to play accoustic on stage, and I also want to record.
So right now, I'm shopping for an electro accoustic guitar, I'd like it to have a cutaway so I can hit those high notes without too much of a problem.

What are the good brands for electro-acoustic? What should I look for?
My budget is about 300$...
I'm thinking I'll buy used.

Cheers!

My mom wanted me to teach her guitar, so she got a cheap thinline yahama electro acoustic.

Its a APX500 Thinline. Its really easy to play, active electronics of course, and has quite a nice sound. Idk if im allowed to link to a site selling it, so you could just google it =)

Though of course, i would always recommend going down to the local music store and checking out a variety, even if you have no interest in buying it. (Such as a taylor ;) )

If you really like the sound of your acoustic just get an acoustic pickup installed, it will be much cheaper and honestly you will end up with much better electronics than buying a sub $500 guitar.

Encore Electro Acoustics are awesome - I've had mine for 11 years and will never get rid of her.

Check them out - really good value for money too, considered a beginner/low end guitar aswell!

Yes that's probably what I'll do, this guitar has a sentimental value also, comes from a dear friend of mine who's really far away. Do you recommend having one installed permanently or just an addon one or something like that? I read I could get a blender system installed on it, not sure how much that would cost in total...
