hmm what all are the professional voice recording/editing software that I should consider buying?

Theres a whole bunch of them.
For music studios there is Logic (mac only), Cubase, Pro Tools, Cakewalk Sonar, Ableton Live, Nuendo, the list goes on.
Most studios use Logic or Pro Tools, though.

If you are just looking to record naration, I'd say you don't need any of these programs. Try Audacity or Reaper. Both are absolutely free and work fairly well.
