So,I'm gonna start building me a recording studio
Tryin to make it cheap so I can keep most of what I have to put toward my Taylor DMSM :D
Atm I have:

E-MU 0404 usb 2.0
http://www.zzounds.com/item--EMU0404

A nice sturdy mic stand I got from Radio Shack
Also got a boom but prob wont be able to use it

I plan to buy:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/jvc-harx300-headphones/584790000000000 -$20
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/sterling-audio-stpf1-professional-pop-filter/271358000000000 - $50
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/mxl-4000-multi-pattern-fet-studio-condenser-microphone - $180

That will put me up to $250

Now what I'm needing, is to fix the room so sound doesn't bounce around.
The room i will be recording in is a 12x13 room, so wont be investing in any foam atm (would cost me around $350 to just go around the bottom of the room, and its got a 12" ceiling -.-)
I know i can just get egg cartons and put them on the ceiling, but what would you guys suggest about the walls?
I've read that you can get sheets or some thick fabric and it will do the trick, but idk if this would be the best route.
Any help/advice would be appreciated on either the items I that i plan to buy, or making my room a "Dead Room".

You don't have to cover the whole walls to keep the sound from bouncing. There are strategic spots where you can place sound(fabric) panels. Just look online for appropriate positioning.

And honestly, one of the biggest part of making music is the programs you use, I'd invest in Cubase 6 for example. Along with several plugins of instruments you don't have but would like to add to what you compose.

How budget is this.

Now mind you I normally record using an apogee one >shure sm57 > w/e amp I am using for the best results but I also have another interface I use with my macbook.

The songs for this band I wrote mainly all at night so these were recorded with......... an apogee jam, guitar direct in to Garageband using onboard amp sims http://www.facebook.com/pages/FEMA/195475317182321?sk=app_182222305144028
yeah so these were done on a $100 budget lol. It doesn't take a lot these days if you take the time to learn how to do it all.
