what does that lil line i circled mean?
do i hold down the pedal there or do i just hold down that note the whole time while playing the other stuff?

that note is supposed to ring for 11 beats... the part u circled is only like 1/3 of it. i dont know how u do it on a piano, but that is common music notation for tied note, just means u let it ring for the duration of all the notes tied together.

u prolly would use pedal so the note sustains long enough

You can't sustain it with the pedal. All of the following notes would then be sustained as well.

I believe in piano sheet music there is a notation for that.
- Hold down pedal
- Release pedal

I believe that is correct, though i might be wrong; i dont play piano enough to know.

Since that note is tied, its just sustained; so im guessing you just hold it down lol. If it makes it easier, a lot of pianos have pedals that do special things like only sustain half the piano at a time.

this. you can add a pedal for a better sound, but change it every measure and keep that F ( hold it)
