I don't know if there is already a thread like this one but i wanted to make a thread to help me and maybe some others in improving technique

this is just a discussion thread to talk about what helped you in what way

to start off i will post an example that i made about a year ago to help my pinky's movement a little better

its not much but hopefully it helps someone

techniques can be anything from speed, movement, accuracy, legato, sweep, strength, chords, etc. etc...

i usually do the
1-2-3-4 across the neck on every string
then throw out some arpageo 5 string sweeps start slow and then go alittle faster kinda like this one

thanks for the exercise i needed some help with my sweeping :)

heres a legato exercise i came up with that helped me

played in the key of G major - its legato so pick the open e while muting the other strings

e|-0-2-3-2-|-3-5-3-2-|-3-5-7-5-|-7-8-7-5-|-7-5-8-7-|5-3-5-3-|2-3-2-3-|-5-3-2-3-|-0-|

i broke it up every 4 notes because its hard to see :P

looks like something my cousin showed me it is a good warm up exercise

on the book i have theres one like this

u can do that along the neck and what not just keep using ur pinky for the last note etc

Good for all fingers, just repeat. Perhaps at a triplet on the 10th fret.

Use index for 10, middle for 12, 3rd for 13 and pinky for 14.

this isn't something new but this has always helped me with my economy picking and getting my fingers stretched out more

thanks for this exercise... after playing it for a little i tried doing it with alternate picking on different strings and this one made me stop dead in my tracks...
