I just started picking up guitar about 2 weeks ago and ordered myself a Yamaha FG720S have it here and have been learning chords/chord progressions and such... only thing i'm still lost on is strumming patterns for songs and how to pick these up since I'm not sure where to get sheet music from or how to even read sheet music for strumming patterns :/ I've been looking at "Every Breath you take" and the chords are easy but I just don't know a strumming pattern so any tips on the pattern for this song or any awesome links to helpful beginner websites would be much appreciated ^^

You're not going to get accurate strumming instructions from tabs. Since you're starting off with easy chord progressions, you should just be able to hear it.

Protip: Don't worry about getting it exactly like the recording, just get as close as you can. You're not going to be able to play anything perfectly for a while and there's no point in trying to play exactly like a guitarist who's been playing for years and years.
