My first problem is, I dont know which type it should be.. Western or a Classic Guitar.. Is the sound very different, can you play the same songs etc etc, please give some opinions why I should pick one over the other.

Also I dont want a terrible expensive one, but at a price range of 400-500 USD, 300-350 EUR.

Hope some kind sould out there can help me out. :)

Have a look at Godin guitars - I personally think they have all the style and class of PRS with the uniqueness of being made from Canadian Maple which is a really nice feeling wood.
Check them out

First decide whats motivating you to pick up a guitar. What kind of music do you want to play? Do you see yourself strumming out some Neil Young? Or maybe even modern pop/rock tunes? Then the "Western" guitar would be a more suitable fit. Do you see yourself playing flamenco? Or maybe some Bach? Then the Classical guitar would better suit. Although these guitar work on the same principles, they're still different instruments. Think of one is like a sports car (Classical)and one is like a Van (Western.) Both get you from a to b, both use four wheels, but one is a one trick pony (sports car) and the other can do pretty much anything, (Van.)

It pretty much comes down to what Superchum said. Also, try to find a guitar that feels comfortable to you. I know that it might not matter, but one guitar is going to feel different from another.

Lol, not everyone can afford Martin/Gibson/Taylor
I'd say go with higher-end Fenders, or if you're going electric, definitely the Fender strat (Mexican made strats are cheaper) because of its versatility. You can figure out from what genre and tone(s) you like.

ps I'm not a Fender marketer but I truly believe Fender holds the standard in many cases for affordability and playability

The only classical you'll find in that price range is a student model - it won't be worth your money. I wouldn't bother with a classical unless you're serious about it and are ready to spend the money for a legit instrument.

As for steel string acoustics, look into seagull and taylor. These two guitars dominate the $500 range. There are a couple cedar top seagulls that sound deceptively sweet for $500.
