I'm looking to buy a nice set of speakers for my college dorm room.

I will be playing solely rap/house/electro (if that matters) out of my computer, no instruments involved.

budget around 500 usd


could anyone suggest some good brands, or even an exact set they have had good experience with?
the room is about 15 by 15 feet

Can't go wrong with any of those. If you want a specific model, people will just suggest whatever they have. You should go to an Audio store, even Best Buy will work to try some out, then buy online.
