I'm currently using a Marshall MS 2 (one of those teensy practice amps) and I'm looking to upgrade to something a bit more... amp-y...
What would be a good low-priced amp (£50-100 maximum) that I could buy? I'm only going to be practicing at home, no gigging or anything like that (I'm a beginner, nn to embarrass myself like that) ;)

Thanks

e- Was looking at the Marshall MG 10 (£59) / MG 15 (£69). How are those? I'm in the UK.
e2 - Guitar, not bass

Roland Micro Cubes are great practice amps at a reasonable price. I would avoid Line 6 gear, it tends to be overpriced and junky.

a while back, I had this problem.. what practice amp to chose?
I went with the line 6 spider 30 watt... and its a pretty good amp just for practicing although I find the only setting i like about it is the insane and normal
the ones in between suck and the effects aren't used much by me.

I heard the peavey vypyr was a great amp... unfortunately they didn't have them at the time and the dude who worked there (currently played in a local band) said that the line 6 was much better :\

$80 for an Orange practice amp, these things are great, loud, cheap, dynamic, with multi-channels. Check it out.

Fender Mustang vote here, the new #1 in practice amps. It's about time fender reclaim the practice amp crown. They've had shit for almost 10 years! The Mustang deserves a try against all others.
