the more i play electric the more i find it pointless.... so much of it is your pedals / presets and it just seems so easy and silly.... playing tab/lead is the only good part but still


loving acoustic more and more everyday... your thoughts?

There's nothing wrong with acoustic - In fact i'd say it's a better version of guitar.

But Electric Guitar is not only important, it's massively different. You cannot do certain things on an acoustic that you can do on an electric. An electric can do everything except make the same beautiful sound as an acoustic, obviously without effects.

Effects add alot to a guitars sound. Without electric guitar, there could be no heavy metal.

How do you imagine Slayer - Reign In Blood or Black Sabbath - Paranoid would sound on acoustic? The answer is light - pussy - empty - missing something.

Electric guitar is another form of playing - but it is not THE form of playing. There's nothing wrong with favouring acoustic over electric, but don't ever bad mouth either one because both are vastly important for music all over the world.

i have played acoustic for the last 10 years, but i would freak if i couldnt listen to electric guitar/bass on occasion. fail thread.
