Ibanez RG2EX1 - http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-RG2EX1-Electric-Guitar-103382115-i1167867.gc
Jackson JS32RT - http://www.guitarcenter.com/Jackson-JS32RT-Dinky-Electric-Guitar-105776454-i1502349.gc

I play many styles of music, anything from blues to metal, which would be the most versatile guitar?

I think that Ibanez looks kinda gay but it's your guitar pick whatever you want man.

Between these two, I prefer Jackson, but it's all about what is the best for u and what type of music you want to play :)

this forum is about music and ive seen some decently informed people in here, though ultimately zell1luk will have to make the decision.

Given the type of music you want to focus on (metal specifically) the Jackson will give you what you are looking for...Today you will rely much more on equipment such as an 11 rack from Digidesign...That said I would personally buy another decent Strat...Great electronics, easy to play and with the right equipment set-up you can get it to sound however you like with a Strat and some even middle of the road software/hardware to go with it...I am a big fan of amplitude...Most of my recording work is all done on the computer now...Nice to plug in a Strat and get the output to sound like a screaming ESP with a stack of tube marshals backing it all of which is done via external electronics.......Biggest thing is decent built in electronics, comfort and fit and the ability to afford and use effectively some of the technology available to us today...Do some research on Digidesign sound effects available today...It's a great feeling to plug in the same ol Strat and with the flip of a switch or two you can get the Metallica sound or a couple other adjustments and you can emulate the sound of Vai or Satriani...

Some other companies to do some reading on are: Line 6, Boss, Digitek and Vox

Any questions, pm me...Only been playing for 30+ years so may not be able to help a ton ;)

Rick

***EDIT***

Just a couple pics of some of my gear....
