I hear that although the ZBT Ride/Hats/Chinas are somewhat decent, the crashes are not only poor sounding, but poor quality. The most common cracked cymbals I see are ZBT (then again they are an entry level cymbal and therefore more often than not I'm sure it's because the person has them too tight, hitting them incorrectly, etc.)

When buying cymbals I always recommend buying used. You can get some good deals and to be honest, I'd rather have one high quality cymbal that will last me the rest of my life than three or four that will last just a couple of years. Check Kijiji/Craigslist/eebay and you'll find something that will fit your budget and needs.

Click my sig for my kit. I think the cymbals I have are beautiful and sound incredibly good, but it's highly subjective of course.

A decent cheap and suprisingly nice sounding crash would be the Zildjian ZHT fast crash. The ZBT's sound like gongs to my ears which is why I avoided them.
