planning on going out and searchign for an accoustic around 100$ (im new i don't see a point in going beyond this price when im noob at it and don't even know if i'll love it) iso best advice on how to teach myself, i play the trumpet already( yes i know nerd instrument and its also very far from strumming chords...) so im figureing im going to have a slight advantage to learning it than others but still would like some info on a book or somethign thats great on teaching myself with.

But once you actually pick it up and want something good, you'll realize you wasted $100 on a shitty guitar.

$100 gets you a toy. An instrument will be around $200. Get this or a Guitar Hero controller for less:

No, don't do this unless you are POSITIVE that Guitar is your life hobby. Alot of people spends loads on their first guitar, play for a month then never play it again. and THAT is a waste of money.

You need to up your budget to $200 and find a tier 1 Yamaha acoustic.

From there, you can learn on a good instrument, set yourself some targets of lets say 5 songs in 3 months. Once done, you should now consider spending $400-$600.

Truth. My first drumset was 200 dollars from a friend. My second was 400. My currents kit about 2,000. Make sure you like the instrument before you drop considerable money on it.
