how long does it take to be able to play a barre chord on an acoustic guitar? man i cant even play a single barre chords without having buzzing or note not even playing..

also my guitar's frets are VERY thin, ive gotta apply alot of pressure to play a chord unless it buzz, and since this is my first acoustic guitar idk if its a normal thing or is the guitar's frets fucked or something

it only takes as much time as you let it take.

make sure your thumb is pressed hard against the back while your first finger is barring, this helped me when i was learning them. like your pinching the neck with your thumb/first

i don't know what you're playing on, barre chords are difficult when you first start but if your guitar is crappy enough it could actually prevent you from playing a clean barre chord entirely. (If the action is too high - which is the distance the strings are from the frets)
this isn't necessarily the case, but if you're playing on a $50 piece of shit it's more than likely

you could try lowering the saddle, that would make it bit easier

Yup, barre with an acoustic guitar requires more pressure and a very particular one; indeed it has to be well spread and you've to make sure your finger's joints aren't upon a string. Considering you earned enough familiarity with this technic on your strato, you just had to copy/paste/adjust it on your acoustic.

whenever my students have trouble with barre chords, its almost always because of a simple error in technique. Think of it like this- your finger has to act like a clamp on all the strings- you need even pressure on the entire fretboard. Just as important, you need to have your finger JUST behind the fret and as parallel to it as possible so that you can maximize the length of your finger. If you don't have pressure evenly distributed, your finger will curl (if you put too much pressure down with your fingertip) or bow backwards (if you're putting too much pressure with the middle joint of your finger). The way to figure out which strings are the problem strings is to hold your chord and then strike each string, one at a time, until you see where your problem is. Once you've done that, you know how to adjust your grip for the perfect chord.
