i've heard some people say that Trivium reminds them of Metallica, I'd check out Testament too.

Testament are not like Metallica lol. Not even early 90's Testament is like Metallica.

If you want Metallica-ish, then i'd suggest ......... Well, someone already said Trivium - Crusade so there isn't really much more. Anthrax lol

Metallica is a mediocre band that sound like Megadeth.

Testament are miles above and beyond Metallica, Hammett cannot compare with Skolnick.

There's hundreds of 80's metal bands that sound exactly like metallica. They are all long forgotten now though, just like all the crap bands right now will be forgotten in 20-30 years.

Metallica really aren't the cream of the crop when it comes to thrash metal, thats my opinion anyway =]
