yep audacity is pretty sweet. garageband if on mac is a good beginner tool.

Cake Walk Sonar is pretty good...

Cool Edit Pro

Pro Tools is best no matter what...

that's about the only good ones.

Imo logic studio.

good to every kind of music, and it is unbelievable cheap if you think about what you get.

logic pro
soundtrack pro
mainstage pro
waveburner pro

40++ gb's of sounds/samples etc etc and all plugins you need are also included

logic pro 9 has it all. even the stretch is awesome now :)

pro tools is more for the guys with money who just like to spend it on the same as you get with logic imo :p

pro tools I'm pretty sure you can get better sound quality too though.. and you can get it for free if you know what you're doing ;)

ya i downlaoded cubase 5 for free and it works 100% perfectly

and i got it for free lol

so just torrent something from a website and there ya go
