Does anybody know how I can take a song, and get rid of the guitars in the mix?

Usually on a *.mp3 /*.wma file the tracks are all mixed up (obviously for copyright reasons), therefore you can barely reduce one's track volume and even if you could (with stereo/mono cut method) the audio quality would get awful.

I suggest you to use backing tracks. I download mine @ guitarbackingtrack.com
If you can't find a song, create it or keep playing with the original

Melodyne can do this. Could be a pain in the ass though to get rid of the guitar.

Oh yea... if you find a midi file version, you can easily get rid of the one instrument.

Found some backing tracks on here to some songs I want...
Do you know how to make a track louder?

1) Open Audacity / Adobe Audition
2) Select whole clip
3) Effects -> Normalise

Melodyne will only work if there is no other sound on the same frequency range as the guitar, otherwise you will be removing other sounds aswell.
