Hey again, I got a 100w Peavey Valveking Head and Cab, and run a Gibson Les Paul through it. The clean, while using this guitar has been VERY ringy. I dont know if its the tubes? or the guitar?, I strongly disagree that it is the guitar, because it was tested before purchased - The checklist and the whole deal. Also when I use the Gibson on another amp, it sounds perfect. BUT, when i use one of my other guitars the clean is fine, and not ringy whatsoever? Its a cheaper guitar, and its pretty weak sounding compared to the Gibson.The distortion on the peavey is pretty weak.
Some back round music info I play basically all music, so I need a distortion that would support Hardcore Music, and/or general metal, then i'll need a general crisp clean sound for stuff like coldplay, death cab.
My idea is to:
- Sell the Valveking, and Buy a 2x12 ( Name brands ) - I was looking at the Bugera 6262 2x12? Or just a marshall 2x12 w/pedals.
Or
- Fix the Valveking (possibly), and buy some pedals (Ibanez tube screamer to boost dist). Along with some other effect pedals.
What do you guys suppose I do? Note: I would also want to downsize from a 4x12, its way too loud in my opinion. I want something that would be a 2x12 preferably.
