has anyone else noticed that majority of the websites out there have tab that is completely off, or kind of similar but just completely wrong pitch.

if anyone has a good guitar tab website to recommend i would be very happy.

It's hard to find a tab that is 100% correct or exactly the way the band plays it. In my experience the guitar pro tabs are usually more accurate and you can use your ear to figure out what doesn't sound exactly right.

Whenever I need to use a tab to learn a song I use the tab more as a starting point or to get a general idea of what's going on.

Then I either listen to song and hear what sounds different and figure out the exact notes that are being played or pull up a cover or something to see someone else interpretation and to see if it sounds good.

Basically what I'm getting at is that there's probably not a single website that has all perfect tabs but using these different techniques makes it so you don't have to rely on the tab so much and have some different ways at learning a song.

Easily has the best selection of tabs. Also if you're into using tabs for songs I would recommend downloading Power Tab. It's a free tab program.

its because almost every tab is tabbed by somebody who posts it to a website. Its not the band writing the tab, so sometimes they are off. Its been awhile since ive looked for tabs, is www.OLGA.net still around? (Online Guitar Archive)?? I might be speaking Geezer language here cause i used that site back in the 90's when i was learning guitar LOL

I used to use OLGA and MXTABs, I know a lot of tab websites got sued for copyright violations and stuff. Most were taken down, then put back up once everything was settled.

ultimate-guitar.com is the best - and nothing comes close.

Yes, all of them are user-submitted, and yes 60% of them are incorrect, but part of being a guitarist is having the knowledge and understanding to think "hey, this tab sounds incorrect, but if i play it at the 5th instead of the 7th, it'll be correct" and ammending tabs to feel correct to you.

You won't find anything 100% perfect unless you pay or break the law ;)
