Those amps along with the low watt epiphones / egnaters are all very low gain amps man. I have gotten insane performance out of the Electro-Harmonix Metal Muff. Its analog, it has true bypass, and it has very natural sounding gain, and quite a lot of different sounds can come out of it. Get the $80 version, its just the one where the top boost is a switch instead of a button. Sounds amazing through my epiphone valve jr and fender hot rod deluxe and sovtek
