ok so, ive got a problem with my guitar.

its a mexican stratocaster

heres the problem : whenever i play the B string on the 7th fret, the note plays for about 3 second and then it just ''fade'' out and ends up as a look-alike harmonic.

it doesnt do it on the other frets or strings, only there

any1 knows what it could be? strings? pickups?

thanks!

If your using an amp, have you tried a different one? I didn't experience a frequency problem any time I have played guitar but experienced something kinda similar to this with a frequency range through a keyboard amp so it could be something to do with that but seeing as its only the 7th fret I don't know... Made all the suggestions I can think of now as drums is my main instrument :)

I would say its an intonation issue. Get a setup, you may have a dead spot that just that string is effected by. A good setup / truss rod adjustment will probably fix it.

This is all I could think of. If your neck is bowing it might cause the note to die suddenly but of course I don't really know. And being that it's only happening on one string may make this irrelevant.
