I picked this guitar up for $100 + a mediocre 2x12 subwoofer box that was rotting in my closet.

Schecter C1 Hellraiser in black, has active EMG's and included a hardshell case.



Was in great shape and it actually sounds extremely well.

Oh yeah and these currently go for $749.99 @ Guitar Center without the hardshell case

it was so cheap because the dude didn't even play guitar and one of the tuning pegs had snapped. so i stopped on the way home and dropped 30 bucks for a set of grovers, went home and cleaned the guitar,installed the new tuners and restrung it, and it played excellent. all in all including subwooferi put in about 230 into the guitar. so more than 500 bucks less than new

Great deal, it's a reward for the patience to sort through all the junk and scams on CL. Picture quality isn't good, but it looks like you need to oil the fretboard and clean it up.

Doing your own repairs and finding guitars that need fixes like this are great, a lot of store-based guitar techs overprice basic repairs like this starting at $100 or so for minor work, so slightly damaged guitars can be great deals. The other thing I have found is that a lot of people will have nice guitars that they never played much and never maintained, shops will offer half of their value, and they don't play well because they aren't set up/have old strings/need the fretboard cleaned and oiled.

I'm trying to find a nice bass in the STL area but apparently everyone here buys squiers or ibanez's





Kind of want to find a vintage, but TBH I don't really know what brands to look for. Kind of wanted a 5 string, to give me more utility....but a 4string would be fine too.

I would still look at Fenders if you want a vintage bass. Just look at Steve Harris from Maiden. His bass has served him damn well over the years, and thats just one example of a Fender bass

Yeah....you know any other good brands from 20+ years ago that might not still be around today?
