I was wondering, does the bullet for my valentine drummer use double bass or not?

At first I was sure he did, but i got the feeling he is opening and closing his hi-hat.

Any1 knows whether he uses double bass or not?

Thanks!

I never thought about it really until now. But I'll tell you from the live experiences I have had at their gigs, he does use a double bass. I doubt he stopped using one after The Poison as Scream Aim Fire was more thrash metal, and Fever is definately faster paced and more aggressive.

Live he definately uses one though, perhaps recorded he tries to improve his single technique?

Excuse me sir? Are you trolling?

In case he'd be opening & closing hi-hat with his left foot, what is he doing with his free hand then?
The tempo in this song (Waking the Demon) is 130 bpm. If he would play the 16th notes of the doublebass parts singlefooted at 130bpm, that would be 260bpm @ double bass.
130bpm in doublebass would be 65bpm singlefooted.

Here is an example of a song in 260bpm, Behemoth - Daimonos performed by Jan Benkwitz. Its slightly differend thingy as BFMV.

So answer to you question: Yes, he is playing double bass instead of singlefooted.

Ah i see :)

Im not familiar with BFMV-discography, im not saying that he couldn't have done the hi-hat-thingy in some songs. I misread, thought you meant exatly the song you posted.
