I think Strats are better overall instruments. And for 800-900 you can get a good used USA Fender. That would be my advice.

They are a fucking pain in the ass. I wish I hadn't hopped on the floyd rose hype..

Yet so fucking fun to mess around with and so useful when playing certain songs.

Depends on the type of music you want to play and what you like in a guitar. I would personally go for an ESP LTD over a Jackson, they are much better quality and any Jackson with a non-Original Floyd is likely to have tuning stability problems.

Schaller floyd rose never were a pain in the ass for me, although I must say I never change tuning.

i got a ltd kirk hammet and the floyd rose is a bitch never buying another guitar with a floyd rose on it again.

Only get a floyd rose unless you actually need, so unless you are doing dive bombs or are heavy on the whammy bar stay away from them, they are a pain the ass. A set of sperzel locking tuners do the job just fine.

ya i have a floating bridge guitar and it SUCKKKSSSS to tune it kicks my ass. so i just dont play it anymore lol

My guitar player's got a Jackson USA soloist (Japan). It sounds and plays well. The original Floyd Rose is dependable; he whammys the shit out of it too.
