So i'm looking to buy a new amp, but i don't really know what i wanna get. I mostly play hard/classic rock and some blues too. What can you guys recommend that isn't incredibly expensive, but not just some cheap shit either?

Nice amp, but a bit too bluesy maybe? Can it be used for something a bit harder? Like AC/DC?

Those jet city amps seem pretty awesome. You got any experience with them?

You can get some incredible sounds from a Carvin V16, particularly so after a few simple mods.

Replying to your comment about the 15 watt amp. Have you ever cranked a 15 watt class A tube amp? It is a world of difference from a solid state. On another note for kickass low wattage tube amps I would recommend the Egnater tweeker, the jet city jc20h, and the epiphone valve junior. I have played all three amps extensively and my personal favorite is between the egnater and the epi valve junior. I actually own the epiphone valve junior stack and it is amazing. The only thing I plan on doing is the bitmo mod to increase the wattage... Although it gets plenty loud enough to play with a band already, but it doesn't have the headroom for a clean at drum volumes. And the epi is only a 5 watt class a tube amp..... I just run a distortion pedal through it for massive gain and without for an amazing tube crunch.

Yeah I've played the 20 watt Jet City amp, and if you can't turn it up loudly, I'd definitely recommend staying away. It doesn't start sounding good until its volume is cranked. The Blackheart Handsome Devil is an awesome amp for lower volumes; it has a 7 watt/15 watt switch.

Yes! If it's not heavy enough though, you can run an overdrive in front of it but I think the amp is heavy sounding enough if you scoop some of the mids out.
