Any ideas for chords for the chorus? Can't really come up with anything

How's about a Dm7 then walk down on the bass notes from the D-C-Bb-A of F but leave the rest of the Dm7 chord. So:

Open D string
2nd Fret G String
1st frets B and E strings.

Leave the G,B,E Strings where they are and go to C on 3rd fret A-string, 1st Fret A-String the Opn A or 1st fret Low E-string.

That any good or shiddy?
