im thinking of buying my friend guitar off of him. its a Epiphone LP standard http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Epiphone/Les-Paul-Standard.aspx

barely used, he got it on sale for 400 and i can get it for less then that. im just starting guitar and im pretty damn sure im sticking with it so i wanna get something i can learn better on then my shitty old first act acoustic.

what do you guys think? worth the money? is this a good guitar to begin with?

Yeah its a nice guitar to begin with, some people hate on epiphones, and I hate on any epi except standards on up, but for the money they are nice electrics, especially if its the epiphone les paul standard, they are good solid guitars that will last until you decide to move up to some pro equipment.

I have no big experience with Ephiphones/Les Pauls, but I can say the are pretty solid even when it comes down to low-end stuff.
The standard is pretty much an all-around guitar, so unless you really want to focus on a certain genre of music, they are good.

Also if you can get it for less than $400, considering it's in good condition, it could turn out to be a very good quality/price.
