It's essentially 1 1/2 step's below standard tuning.

i really really dislike half-steps, so i'm not a fan of this

i'd happily go 2 steps down, or 1 step down, but 1.5? no thanks

C# standard is my favorite tuning.

I understand why you feel this way. But I don't feel the same.

I am a massive fan of drop d and half step down. It's too annoying to downtune to c but it's extra annoying because slayer - disciple is 1.5 steps down and i love playing that song

Standard tuning. Always, on occassion I tune to drop D for a few covers.

My acoustic is tuned to D#GD#FA#D# and I am learning this wacky song called Morrison County, shit's cool as fuck but it's the only thing I can play in this tuning :\

If you stumbled upon it rather than being introduced to it, you should certainly be aware of some of the notable bands who used it, like Black Sabbath, Venom, and many of the countless bands inspired by them.
