What is the difference between regular spacing and F spacing?

I think it has to do with how far apart your strings are due to your bridge. Some bridges have more space in between the strings, thus the pole pieces of the pickups should ideally reflect that.

F spacing pickups are usually for guitars with a floyd rose type bridge because the strings are spaced a little more.
