do you guys bend on the tip of your finger or you just lay your finger on the string and lift it?

you can do with either, but tips allow more strength to pull to higher steps

i know it may sound like a stupid Q, but i know that its important to touch the upper string with your finger tips when bending unless its rings and does noises, and i do not seems to touch them when i bend

maybe its because i have short fingers idk

You can mute them with your picking hand as well. I use a mixture of both techniques.

Could be. I could do it, but my finger tips always graze the above strings when I am releasing. I could probably prevent it if I changed my style, but I like my style.

i have a finger on each fret before the bend, gives me more control and strength
