everything may seem diffucult to start with, but with correct practice and dedication, you'll see improvements.

Ah I gotcha. Time flies, I forgot how long it's been since summer and how close the end of the school year is (I graduated last year and took a year off to work).

Finger picking can be relatively easy once you get used to the muscle movement in each finger, which may take a while if you're used to playing with a pick.

I'd suggest starting with some arpeggio style chord songs, using your thumb for the root and 1 finger for each string at the top end of the arpeggio. Good example of this sort of song is Last Kiss by Pearl Jam.

Once you get used to it a little bit, one of my favorite finger picking songs is Clapton's Tears in Heaven. It's a relatively simple song, but songs very pretty :)

I guess the only thing thats left to say is, don't try to learn both finger and pick styles, make your decision now and stick with it.

I didn't like that version btw, seems too sloppy, he usually does better live.

I think that's ridiculous. Why limit yourself to one style of guitar? I started playing (only pick style) a few years back and just recently (around the start of summer 2009) I started fingerstyle and hybrid picking. All I can say is, if I limited myself to one style, I wouldn't be the guitarist I am today.
