Down and up ; Alternate picking, there's not much ways, or if its a slow riff, you can go all down strums but it's really better to practice the alternates method

Well, you should practice this riff slowly before everything because yeah, it's a bit "technical" but i'm sure you can make it, with the right picking method & finger position

stuff like this does get a little weird, with upstrokes on some notes and downstrokes on the same note later... but practice will get it for you.
