Are you talking about when you record and everything is slow and somewhat distorted? I've had that problem and what I did was exit programs like iTunes, Guitar Pro, or other programs that use sound and restart my computer. I had this happen when I used to use Audacity.

compatibility issue between audio card and your board? is this a special mic with recording capabilities (i have seen them). need more info to even begin to suggest solution, but it sounds like the problem we had recording our second album.

Check that your settings match up for the board and the software you use.
A board running 96K into a 44.1K soundcard would act like what you describe.
