i was playing acoustic at work, all of a sudden my left index finger is writhing in pain. its not from lack of caluses, i can push down hard on it and no pain, more like a ligament or something. the pain is so sharp i have to type with nine fingers. anyone had this happen? i play at least an hour or two daily and have never had this happen. it happened about 20 minutes ago and is persistant.

could have pinched a nerve? They can be excruciating.

it can also linger for a few days.. I wouldnt be too worried though, it sounds like a minor thing. I'd just ice it for now and leave it be (don't play until it heals).
stretch it though...definately stretch it

i am concerned because i have had some wierd ligament problems in my left wrist and shoulder and now finger. the wrist thing was from stretching, the shoulder was from hoisting. i cant really stretch it, when i extend my finger it hurts -a very sharp pain under the fingernail. the wrist thing never healed (been 2 yrs thankfully i can play music) ther shoulder thing was a slow recovery but seems fine.

supposed to go to jam for NYE, i will have a hard time sitting out

Most certainly get it looked at by a Physician. You need to know how long you gotta wait before you can spank your plank again
