I've been working on getting an organized Facebook group together - connecting musicians from around the world for purposes of networking and other etc. topics.

I figured this forum is also a decent place to start.

Why is musician networking pointless? Good idea for linking people from common areas together for gigging, recording, etc.

Yep, there are tons of websites dedicated to finding music partners... But unfortunately, most of the askers really aren't that good. Or they are looking for something very specific. Not a lot of jammers on these sites.

There is probably already a group on facebook labeled "[Your city] Musicians" or something along those lines.
