What's an easy and effective way to rip certain audio segments from a movie in good quality? Say for example I want an audio clip of a certain quote, how would I go about that?

It may not be the best or most efficient, but I turn the stereo mix on in my sound controls and use Audacity if it's off the web or playing a movie on my computer.

What's Audacity, where can I find it, and how do I use it?

Also, what is stereo mix? Your sound controls may be completely different than mine if you're running a different OS. ( I'm using windows vista home premium x64 )

I appreciate the answer, but unless you explain it, it's not really helpful in the least.

Can anyone else assist me?

I'd suggest these forums for any production-wise questions:
http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/production-tips-449/

Even if you are a total noob, people will surely help you out because A LOT of them are incredible mixers/producers.

In fact, check out this section of ultimate-metal: http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/andy-sneap-151/
One of the most useful forums I've been in quite in a while.

If you're looking for some more faster answers but less professional, you can always go here: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=40

/E: But yeah, I'll try to answer your question: The best way would be to get the audio file and to open it in a DAW (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Audio_Workstation) such as Audacity or Reaper (Both free), unless you have bought one and then cut the sample out from there and export it as another audio file.

On audacity I usually just use this setting : "Record what I'm hearing" .. Actually the sound card is recording the song played from itself.

(Audacity is an easy recording freeware)

I figured I'd ask someone who knew what they were talking about rather than just read about it on google. Suck a dick and die.
