So I've been working on the solo to Fade To Black - Metallica , and theres one part thats giving me trouble.

Here's the tabs for the part I'm talking about.

Full Full Full Full
) p ) p ) p )
----/--7---------/-7---------/-7---------/---
---/-----10^7---/----10^7---/----10^7---/--7-
-9/-----------9/----------9/----------9/-----
---------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------

Full Full Full Full
p ) p ) p ) p )
---------/----------/-7---------/-7---------/-7-
-10^7---/-7-10^7---/----10^7---/----10^7---/----
------9/---------9/----------9/----------9/-----
------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------

its a bend on 9G , 7E , pulloff from 10-7B , repeat.

What I'm currently doing , in lack of a better technique , is rolling ... almost sweep picking on a downstrum repeatedly... however I cannot get it to sound right.

I've watched a few youtube videos of covers on this , but can't really catch what their doing to achieve the sound I'm after. ( It's obviously not what I'm doing though... )

Anyways , help is appreciated. If I could ace this part than I'd be able to play this solo flawlessly... its a pretty amazing song.

You should do a downstroke on 7E, an upstroke on 10B then the pull off and a downstroke on 9G. Rinse and repeat.

Thanks for the suggestions ... just about got it nailed. Still about 20BPS shy of full speed but I'm getting there :)

Great cover slipknot =). Always a good sign when randoms on youtube don't think your really playing.
