I wanna play technical difficulties by paul gilbert....
sick asss song but im simply not fast enough
any of u guys know of anything that will build my speed?
ive been playing scales over and over and still im not fastr

I haven't because I don't have the time to do it, but I know some people on UG who have and it seems to really work.

i dont know how to start.
i9 just did the paulgilbert song
the begining.. in 30 minutes i went from not being able to play it, to playing it at fuill spped.
only the like intro with the picked notes and the scales thoguh
i cant do the scalles up to speed but i can [pick up to speed now..

Practice, practice and practice.
Start at slow tempo, play a full section, then increase, increase until you can nail it. Then move to the next section, same procedure. Start at slow tempo, then increase it, etc.
Do this for the whole song, then afterward play the whole song starting at slow tempo and increase until you can play it full speed.

Do it right, should take you maybe less than 21 days, but use those 21 days!

I built my speed using the monochromatic scale.

Start on your 6th string ,play the frets 1-4 , plucking each ntoe once , and than go back down the strings doing the same thing.

than pluck each note twice , going up and than back down.

alternate this method until your playing it clean and at a speed you like.

( alternate your picking btw )
