seems like it would be very confusing when you think about it. sure it would hold down, say a G chord but how would you play an A, B, D, E or F chord out of that position? also it would be pretty damn hard to play a solo.

not a good investment of practice time, tho it is a neat idea.

Seems kind of pointless, open/modal tunings allow you to play chords in different positions with or without a capo.
I just looked at what this thing looks like, it looks absolutely ridiculous and I think it would get in the way of playing. Is this intended for simply strumming on one chord without changing chords or shifting positions? Do you really need technology to help you strum a single chord to accompany yourself?

Wouldn't really affect your soloing but chords in the same position would be useless bad investment switch your chords quicker .

it would have to. think about trying to play open strings, they are no longer in set intervals, they are set to whatever chord you capo to making soloing pretty difficult. again it all boils down to being a waste of practice time.

My post wasn't in direct response to you, my bad. I'm just saying the creation of that would lead to very lazy and sloppy guitar playing/parts.
