Just a question that's been lying in my head unanswered for a while. So far, I have a low end BC Rich guitar and a 15 watt line 6 amp

So as the guitarist, what would I need to play in a small show? Do I need like a big marshall stack and a powered mixer? Currently it's out of my budget (I'm in high school :D) so I'm just wondering. What would be the minimal yet decent equipment I need? And if you know what the other members need (vocalist, drummer..) it would be nice if you help on that too.

often you would just borrow the schools equipment, or rent it if you are playing at a private party

I don't think the school has any equipment for guitar and stuff..

if the rooms is not too big, you don't need to mic up the drums, but the singer needs a PA (mic, mixer, amp, speakers).. you can use a 15 watt amp but people can't hear any bass from your guitar, and if your guitar is the only instrument in the band you should get something like a cube 60watt or bigger. but try if you can borrow something like a fender hot rod deluxe, then you are still able to play at a bigger gig

i see.. so how are the amps hooked up on stage? what can amp stacks do that combo amps cant? (or vice versa)
