.048 is very light for C, go for the Beefy Slinky. I use the Beefy Slinkies for tuning down one full step (DGCFAD), and I use the same top 5 and a 58 or 60 for the low C, sometimes with the 4th/5th .002 heavier. There aren't any retail packaged string sets that I know of that are ideal for drop tunings with relatively even tension, so I order mine online, it costs 6-7 for a set of Ernie Ball 11-58/60, or ~15 for 11-56 Elixir, though I don't use those.

I used Zakk Wylde 60's for dropping to C and I tell you now, you can get some of the dirtiest pinch harmonics on like the 1st fret low E string with them.
I would recommend them \m/
Warning - Incredibly difficult to play comfortably in Standard with these strings
Required a tension rod adjustment, and while I do use 11-58 or 60 for drop C, the Zakk Wylde sets are 10-13-17-36-52-60, and the 52 is extremely heavy, while the 60 is very loose in comparison. The top 3 are even lighter than the bottom, and I can not comfortably play on them.
The tension on this set, tuned to CGCFAD, is approximately:
10 - 12.9 lbs
13 - 12.2 lbs
17 - 13.1 lbs
36 - 27.6 lbs
52 - 31.1 lbs
60 - 19.2 lbs
It would be a decent set if the 4th and 5th strings were reasonably heavy, but the tension difference is too much.
