After many failed attempts I cannot isolate the vocals from a song without loosing alot of "feel" to them.

My aim is to remix a song using only the original vocals.

If you could shed some light, (all I know to do is fiddle with low/high passes / compressors / EQ's etc), and I'm relatively crap at it :D.

Or, extract the vocals yourself and send me them :)

please write here!

I'm not sure how long this would take you, but I would hazard a guess at 20 minutes or so, and therefore would probably give up 40-150 FG, depending on the outcome!

thanks.

Just so you know, without the original file where the vocals are a separate audio file from the music, this is going to be basically impossble. You are taking a single merged audio file and are trying to preserve everything but the vocals. The vocals share too manyof the same frequencies as some of the other instruments, so even if you get the vocals to be cut it, its going to always cut out several other things as well, therefore it will not have the sound it before hand.

I understand the principles, and you sorta have things backwards ;).

I want to cut out everything but the vocals, so I'm left with the vocals.

They're are various techniques im aware of that can get the job done, and I know it wont be perfect, but I'm pretty crap at it and i'm sure someone else can do better.

Thanks.

lay tha vocals again

unless tha beat is tha exact same tempo, ull have to adjust tha tempo of ur verse
and depending on what program ur using that can be tough to fit in perfectly

edit: wait, you want to extract vocals from a mixed song?
or do u still have tha session?

Its a commercial song, I use FruityLoops, and yes, you can extract the vocals to a certain extent by filtering out other frequencies.
