i want to dl a good synth pad that i can mess around with and upload samples into. with that i need a website that had the compatible samples for the pad. if anyone can help?

Hi, your best bet is a virtual synth, they take up alot less space than a sample library & are alot more versatile for creating pads. If you run a daw that is compatible with vsti's then you'll have no problem finding free vsti's on the net. If you dont run a daw you'll need a stand alone soft synth (RTAS). However, if your running a standalone synth you will need a way of controlling it, & if you dont have a midi interface & keyboard then you will definately need a daw of some kind so you can send note data to the synth to trigger the sounds... in which case you should be able to find a free one if you look around the net... try the following links for free stuff (assuming your running windows).

I'd reccomend you Sylenth1 or Nexus

Green Oaks Crystal is very nice for evolving textures & pads, but its not user friendly for a novice... although you may find something usable in the presets, give it a try.
