Hi, your best bet is a virtual synth, they take up alot less space than a sample library & are alot more versatile for creating pads. If you run a daw that is compatible with vsti's then you'll have no problem finding free vsti's on the net. If you dont run a daw you'll need a stand alone soft synth (RTAS). However, if your running a standalone synth you will need a way of controlling it, & if you dont have a midi interface & keyboard then you will definately need a daw of some kind so you can send note data to the synth to trigger the sounds... in which case you should be able to find a free one if you look around the net... try the following links for free stuff (assuming your running windows).
