Assuming that this is your first guitar / amp I would HIGHLY recomend getting something
"brand name". I wouldn't suggest that amp, perhaps look into the "Roland Cube 'x' " series.
My first amp was a Roland Cube 30 and I loved it. Also for the most part, out of all the lower
end guitars, I've heard lot of good things about Ibanez. Also I have 2 Schecter Guitars (both
have floating bridges) and I would highly recommend their lower end models as well. But seriously
I don't know what the other people here will think of that amp but I would suggest looking into something
that is well known. (Fender/Crate/Roland/Marshal) Whatever it may be. Just my opinion though.

would also second the roland cube. no need for something big and large in the beginning.

Schechter/Ibanez are good brands to look in for guitars. I really recommend trying them first at a shop, even if you want to order them from the internet. Doesn't cost anything and you will get some good advice.
