Trying to settle a debate on which method of picking is superior, i believe that it's impossible to say (like asking who the best guitarist is) it all depends on your style.

It really does depend on the song, fingers do sound different from picks. I play fingerstyle all the time, even if the song is originally played with a pick -- but thats just because I love finger picking. In general though, I'd say finger picking is more versatile since you can play more than one note at a time -- but its hard to become really proficient at. If theres a lot of constant strumming in the song, I'd say picks are better.

Ya same here, every song has it's own style which makes it unique. I love 80's-90's rock and alot of times i go hybrid using the pick to strum some chords or just to hit the bass notes and pick with fingers because the song usually starts out slower and picks up or starts faster and slows down..

I play guitar.

I depends on the song...and person...
A song like Classical Gas, should be picked...while a song like Be My Lover (alice cooper) should be strummed.

A good guitar player can do both, and choose what he/she feels is best for that song.

After all, so many songs of 20 years ago, are being duplicated and recorded, changed and tweaked..so anything is possible with any song...

I'll only drop my pick if i'm using an Ebow or if I can't pick quickly and accurately enough for fast fingerpicking stuff.

finger picking is technically more versatile but you cant get the same sound as you can with a pick and vice versa. all depends on style/preference

I use a pick almost all the time. Unless it's a song like Laser Speed (and material along that line), I don't use a pick.

Uh all depends on the style.
Acoustic I'll fingerpick.
Metal and shred I'll pick.
Otherwise I don't really hybrid.

Depends on song/style and such.
