Hey So Im having a digital problem with my studio. I use a 16 channel yahmana mg16/6 mixer with a M audio Delta 1010lt pci card. I use sonar 8 cakewalk and The problem Iam having is there is a delay when i try to record guitars.

Its so bad I cant even make scratch tracks. Its like u play a riff then 2 seconds later u hear it. I think there is a setting that can fix it Im not sure does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have a converter for the guitar inputs to reduce latency? Or there should be a setting on Cakewalk to combat that. Its one of the main problems with digital recordings.

check your bit rate, the bitrate on the software cant be higher than the hardware

Yeah I figured there should something to take off the delay through audio settings maybe but Im having a hard time finding it or even what to look for on sonar.

I pretty much know how to mix master record and use plugins such as drummagog sonicmaximizer shit like that.

Im not sure where to look so thats what I need help with =/

I used to to use a presonus firepod that was great it was seriously plugin and play.

ALSO! just mentioning to anyone that could possibly know how to fix it, the problem is between the PCI card and Sonar. from how i have his studio set up, there should be (only at max) a 3ms delay... but its almost a half a second! its completely obnoxious. ive tried different settings so that there would only be a 2ms, 1ms, and 0ms delay, but when i change it to those settings, sonar cant read the card. id like to have the setting for 0ms delay, of course (dont worry about the CPU burning up... i can figure out a way around that afterwards, easily). seriously, if ANYONE knows about fixing this problem and fully understands how this shit works, let me know

The comp im using is using 120 G harddrive space just for the my studio. There is no internet even hooked up to it and for the most part its pretty beast
