IMO, stay very far away from pulse. Look at the lower end ludwigs, Ddrums, or maybe even used would be a really good option for you. Whats your price range? I have had friends just starting on drums making the mistake of buying pulse.

My first drumset was a CBDrums brand. I mean it wasn't the greatest drumset but it did it's job.

You'll later move into pearls, ludwigs and high end shit.
