if ur a beginner u might be interested in an electronic kit just to see if you can keep a beat and play to a metronome and what not

I got my YOKI DD908 for like 280$ on eebay and it was a pretty good deal

Hi hat/snare/ride/crash/3 toms and bass/hihat pedals.

Also comes with hundreds of different drum sounds u can change the pads too, AUX in and out for recording or importing, and several MIDI tracks you can play along to

Id say grab an acoustic kit when you're ready to do advanced techniques.

An electric will serve you for the basic of the basic, and prolly be cheaper + u can listen with headphones so ur neighbors/house partners would be annoyed. And it takes up less space.

Not sure what 'decent' price is for a drumset... but I bought my boyfriends guitar at SamAsh.

www.samash.com --- I found the guitar in a magazine ad by them and it seemed decently priced compared to the others I'd seen for sale.

I started out on a shitty accoustic set that I bought from a guy for like 50 bucks. Learned the basics and such on that. Then I moved and sound was kind of an issue so I got a Roland TD-3 electric set and I've been playing it for about 2 years. Its nice cause like mentioned before, you can play through headphones or an amp if you're playing with other people.

I think a pearl forum sieres should be around $600 at any music store you have locally,
or any onlines store like musiciansfriend.com
decent sounding, easy playing. Its a great starter kit.
