Schecter
Jackson
Ibanez
ESP.

All very good guitars for a moderately lower price but Warlocks are terrible, don't bother with that.

anything thats not a branch

FOR EXAMPLE...
squier (Fender branch) \ epiphone (Gibson branch) \ LTD (ESP branch)

bc rich guitars suck.

the reason yours doesnt sound too well is probably because its an epiphone.

or maybe he has diff effects setup

definately WRONG on one of those accounts. LTD Esp's are exceptional guitars for the money. They are well crafted and sound waaay better than any other guitar in there price range for rock or metal. I have had countless LTD's and they were all solid as a rock with quality electronics. I would recommend LTD to anyone looking for a beginner to intermediate guitar for under 400 bucks. Squires sucks, but again I have played some of the higher end epiphones and was suprised at the sound quality and craftsmanship of them, with epiphone its a guitar by guitar basis though, not very good QC at there factories.

I play classic rock and a little metal, and i use a fender stratocaster with noiseless pickups. You can't lock the strings with fender, but it is very nice to play songs with both clean and metal sound=)
Some songs are very beautiful, and sometimes better that acoustic guitar, so if you play songs with some heavy and some calm parts, you dont really have to change to acoustic guitar all the time. Works really good if you play live conserts.
I use 010 strings. Fast guitar solos and good sound. (depends on how''metal'' you are ofcourse=P) I would use Ibanez for 100% metal.

Yea you have no idea what you are talking about. Please stop giving advice.

If you want advice you need to tell us what Genre you play, and your budget.

:P Anyways, aim for Ibanez or maybe LTD if you're more "Metal" oriented. Both have great guitars. Schecter too, but I heard nasty things about the necks.

I have a higher end Schecter and I love it. The C-1 Hellraiser is a solid body guitar and the neck
feels amazing. Awesome guitar for lower tunings!
